The Hakrokrig represents a departure from established Fearcrushy doctrine and as such merited a new classification “Shooty Frigate.” The Hakrokrig is the first orc vessel for three generations to be entirely armed with energy weapons. Numerous blaster emplacements give the Hakrokrig a combined output of 840TXq with an accuracy envelope of 178 000km and is the core firepower of the ship.
This is further supplemented by pulse blaster turrets that provide another 400TXq of output power. The pulse blasters serve the dual purpose of point-defence and supplementary firepower. They fall into a middle ground of being powerful enough to be more damaging to capital ships than most other light weapons and yet with a rate of fire still sufficient to engage fighters or missiles. However, this comes at the expense of effective range, and they only have an accuracy envelope of 55 000km and thus only a 0.7Ym³ engagement sphere.
The Hakrokrig is the start the start of a paradigm shift in the 6th generation of orc fleet. It is designed rush ahead of the slower, long-ranged elements of the orc fleet and strip their shields and armour of enemy vessels to allow the torpedoes to do their grizzly work.
To fulfil this requirement, the Hakrokrig needs to be able to close the range rapidly. To achieve this, it mounts five engines – a central larger engine and four smaller drives in nacelles. These give the Hakrokrig an acceleration of 17mc and an equally good agility rated to 191MEUs.
The Hakrokrig is also a departure from previous doctrine in that is has a small 195TXq shield generator, in addition to its 440TXq-rated AIC armour belt. This is believed to be in response to the widespread deployment of the GTSR’s ion-cannon armed Pterodactylus fighters, which has proven otherwise effective at disabling the small unshielded orcish capital ships.
It is interesting to note that the Hakrokrig, if it represents a sea-change that sticks, may be the first indications that the Fearcrushy is changing its doctrine to one alin to that of the Saiyvalyss Alliance; one element of fast, close-range ships to strip shielding, supported by a second long-range element.
