The Krasskorg Heavy Fighter (or “battleaxe”) is the backbone of the orcish flghtercraft. Indeed, it is unusual to see many other types of fighter outside the Fearcrushy’s own borders. The Krasskorg, since it’s introduction in 2332, become the most widespread smallcraft in the orc fleet.
It is perhaps surprising, then, to report that the Krasskorg has only middling performance for a fighter of it class. The four Knokky-Far SSE-542 engines give it somewhat average agility, rated to 478 MEUs. The acceleration is likewise middle-of-the- road at 42.5mc.
The Krasskorg is a sturdy mount, however. Like most orc smallcraft, it does mount a shield generator, which grant it shields rated to 96TXq. In addition, it has, somewhat unusually for most fighters, a thick armour belt, with an AIC rated at 120TXq. Armour on fighters is less common because it rather more difficult to make the armour thick enough to benefit from the multilayer composites agains the kind of firepower from capital starships, and in general shields are usually seen as superior. But orc armour technology is sufficiently ahead of its shielding that this is less of a drawback in the Krasskorg.
But the reason the Krasskorg is popular with its crew is because of its firepower. Four blaster cannons, each rated to 21TXq, are mounted above and below the axe-head-like wings. While a little short-ranged than many similar weapons (an accuracy envelope of only 57 000km), they are powerful and the large, bright blue bolts are seemingly very satisfying to fire.
The Krasskorg also mounts two light torpedo tubes, each with a Standard Warhead Capacity Rating of 3.5 and typically armed with four 50TXq-yield Zurk-19 general purpose light torpedoes.
The Kraaskorg is very much a jack-of-all trades, but with the orc doctrine of having larger fighter cruisers take many of the specialist roles, it is rarely put into a position where it is forced to operate outside of its generalist role.
