"Hierophants were people who brought religious congregants into the presence of that which is deemed holy. As such, they were the priests of the ancient realm. Their main responsibility was to prepare the deceased for the Rite of Passage - a journey into the realm of eternal rest for the ruler and his court. That is why being accepted within the ranks of the pharaoh's court was considered a highest attainable privilege. Vast knowledge of Hierophants was essential in preparing their pharaoh to return once again to realm of mortals in the form of Ever Living ruler."
