It always starts with a ripple. A soft croak drifts across the still water. Something small shifts beneath the lily pads. Harmless. Almost cute... Then it moves.
Old hunters whisper that Frogodiles come from a single, unfortunate ancestor. When a lone crocodile devoured a clutch of enchanted frogspawn, one egg did not break. It hatched inside the beast, its tiny body steeped in bile, blood, and magic. It fed first on the remains of its siblings, then on whatever scraps the crocodile swallowed.
It grew so large that there was no longer room within the crocodile’s gut, yet far too large to escape. Days later, something dragged itself from the swamp.
What emerged was no longer recognisable. Part frog. Part crocodile. Entirely deadly.
I've sculpted the Frogodile to appear almost comical: squat, plump, and low to the ground, with the rounded silhouette of an enormous swamp toad. But a second look reveals its true nature. Thick crocodilian scales armor its body, jagged spines run in rugged rows down its back, and its grin stretches far too wide, packed with needle-like teeth.
Then comes the tongue - lined with hooked teeth of its own, the Frogodile’s tongue lashes out with startling speed, snatching prey from the reeds before dragging it into its waiting maw. Its compact, powerful form and exaggerated features give it a bold, highly readable silhouette on the tabletop, while still carrying plenty of character and menace.
This is the 'Stalking' version of the model.
