The Khazâd Destroyer was one of the first of the new generation of Zirakthargûm vessels. Its primary roles are to provide a more mobile attack group, supplemented by Zâgorn corvettes, or to support larger vessels like the older Thorin Dreadnoughts. With a good turn of speed, excellent shielding and armour, the Khazâd's numerous plasma batteries cover a much wider arc than the older broadsides on the older and larger dreadnoughts, allowing the Khazâd to cover the dreadnought’s blind spots in this latter role.
