When you need dead flat and nothing less. Vallejo's Polyurethane Ultra Matt Varnish knocks out every last trace of shine for the most muted, natural finish going — ideal for realistic historical models, grimdark schemes and anything that should look utterly non-reflective. Permanent, hard-wearing and water-based.
At a glance
- Type: Polyurethane varnish
- Finish: Ultra matt, permanent and very resistant
- Volume: 18ml dropper bottle
- Use: Brush or airbrush (0.4mm) without dilution
Why it's good
- The flattest finish in the range — zero unwanted shine
- Ideal for realistic historicals, grimdark and stealthy schemes
- Touch-dry in around an hour; leave 24 hours between coats; cleans up with soap and water
Go carefully in thin coats — ultra matt is powerful, and a light touch keeps detail crisp.
The dead-flat seal for the most natural finish. Pair it with a satin varnish for areas that need a hint of sheen.
