The HAM-112 Enfilade has a troubled design history. Despite being one of the earlier planned vessels, problems with the power core and radiation shielding caused it to be heavily delayed – so delayed that indeed the CAW-107 Fusillade was created as a stop-gap measure.
The Fusillade’s solution to the raditation problem was simple yet elegant, and lead to the final design of the Enfilade: placing the missiles racks clear of the hull, where less shielding is required. This in turn freed the internal structure enought to use a larger power core and solve both problems.
The Enfilade is technically a Hawkings Astronautics design, though it licences componets (like the construction of the missile bays and pylons) from Copernicus Amalgamated. The missile pods of both starships are compatible, thus reducing the supply requirements in the field.
Aside from its missile pods, the Enfilade is armed with a series of point-defence particle pellet guns.
