The CA 01 Sutroq “lit. heavy spear (or pike) carrier” is designed to be the centre of the Qyax fleet’s forward line. A fast, agile vessel that would be classified as a battlecruiser by other metrics, the Sutroq is primarily focussed on bringing its spinal mount particle beam to bear. This has an accuracy envelope of around 400 000km and a peak output of around 5600TXq. It is quite capable of destroying smaller craft all by itself at maximum output and is capable of stripping shields and armour at lower outputs.

The Sutroq functions as part of the forward units, providing screening for the specialist or long-range vessels. With an acceleration of 16.5mc, it can match most frigates. Four Voolot-Nhoor VN001765 engines give the Sutroq manoeuvrability rated to 178 MEUs and commensurate evasion.

This agility further enhances the protection of its 3200TXq shielding. Active protection is composed of six point-defence lazer batteries; two, mounted on the upper engines, cover the while ship, while a pair at front and back cover the forward and rear hemispheres. The final level of protection, the armour belt is rated to a respectable Armour Integrity Capacity of 1600TXq.

Four XF-3 railgun turrets provide the Sutroq with some limited all-aspect coverage, each having an output yield of around 115TXq. These systems are very much secondary weapons, and a vessel able to out-manoeuvre the Sutroq is capable of nullifying its principle weapon. However, as the ability to do so typically is only the purview of lighter starships, these weapons are enough to provide such attackers with a credible threat, even if the Sutroq is alone. And Sutroqs are rarely alone, often being escorted with point-defence ships, smaller vessels such as the Rettik Far or even, on occasion, Taron Farr frigates, supplementing the Sutroq’s ranged fire.
