The TM 01 Tayati is named for an Urrotian beast of burden from the early pre-industrial age. Tayati (or tayouti in xoxyriat) are hexapedal vertebrates, domesticated early in elenthnar history (analogous to horses that lead to donkeys on HPE-E and HPE-L worlds. Originally from the drier regions of Urrot, tayati are naturally cursorial like all their family. However, they are also slow but good climbers. They have a very staid and placid character. These traits meant they were highly prised by several of the pre-insudstrial armies. While they could carry less loads than some of the other beast of burden, they almost never took fright and were by far rthe most steady climbers.
The TM 01 Tayati is a militarised version of the Qyaxes’ principle civilian transport, the Uolari, named for another beast of burden in the same family. The Tayati is slightly larger than the Uolari, due to being much better protected with impressive 1950TXq-rated shields and the requisitely larger power core.
The Tayati has a pair of Voolot-Nhoor VN001670 engines, the same engines mounted on the CM 03 Ylurax which is of simialr mass. The Tayati’s performance is necessarily lower, with only a 7mc acceleration and 85 MEUs. Still, this is nearly three times the acceleration and four times the maneouvreability of the civilian version.
Tayati carries its cargo in two large cargo pods. These hold slightly less cargo volume than the Xygritt standard pods (as used on the Pol Transport), but still more than the Xyriat Yaxir. The Uolari carries additional low-bulk cargo space, but on the Tayati, this mass was required for the shield grid and engines.
The Tayati mounts a pair of point-defence lazer batteries, but no other weapon systems.
Unlike many Qyax ships, the crew complement is principally physical, rather than digital, though a larger proportion are nonsentient robots and loading drones.
