The Multicarinata is a missile platform, named for the southern alligator lizard. Instead of the particle beams, the Multicarinata mounts nine tubes in three groups – one group on each “fin” and the third under the nose. The payload is projected to be 144 missiles. These are expected to be drawn from the numerous BSE and Soviet stocks; the ASM-256 Starlance being the BSE’s standard issue and the K-5512 Liúxīng (Meteor) the Soviet Remnant’s. In either case, the performance of the missiles is close, at around 200TXq-warhead yields and similar engagement envelopes of 600 000km. The Multicarinata is expected to supplement the larger Varanus Flavescens Heavy Cruiser as a relatively cheap weapons platform.
