Drop Bear, Legendary Australian Monster

Everyone knows the stories. Everyone laughs at the stories. Right up until something falls out of a tree.

The Drop Bear is one of the Outback's more modern legends, a creature supposedly indistinguishable from an ordinary koala until it decides that an unsuspecting traveller looks considerably more appetising than eucalyptus.

This version takes that ridiculous tale and asks one important question - what if the stories were true?

A monstrous giant of a koala, this Drop Bear has traded its harmless reputation for powerful claws, savage teeth and a taste for meat.

It waits patiently among the branches. It watches.

And when its prey passes beneath... it drops.

I've designed this Drop Bear as an ambush predator, an oversized and ferocious koala that makes an excellent wilderness monster for forest paths, remote settlements and Australian-inspired fantasy adventures.

Place it high among the trees, lurking above an unsuspecting party, or simply unleash it upon your players when they become far too comfortable wandering beneath the canopy.

The wilderness is dangerous... but sometimes the danger isn't in front of you. Sometimes it falls from above. 🐨🌳
