When darkness begins to stir beneath the streets of the industrial districts, and a trembling ripple of impending doom appears high in the sky, only a few are willing to face it head-on. Among them is the squad known, in both cities and ruins, as the Breakers of Starfall.
At the head of the squad stands Garrett — an unyielding hunter of heresy, marked by a curse he has managed to turn into a weapon. His gaze catches what remains hidden from ordinary eyes: traces of corruption, echoes of forbidden rituals, the faintest shiver of magic. Garrett leads the squad along the threads of secret conspiracies and ancient maledictions, pursuing the truth with the obsession of someone who has nowhere left to retreat.
His right hand is Hermia, a former witch who became an inquisitor by her own will. She is the mind and the judgment of the squad. Her magic and knowledge make her a living boundary between truth and delusion. Hermia strikes enemies with mental force and inquisitorial spells, and her ability to discern the structure and logic of a cult makes her indispensable in the hunt for witches, specters, and sorcerers. She is the one who calls sin by its name.
The third is Rowan, a templar forged in the blackest factory slums. He is the shield of the squad — steadfast as a steel press and fierce as the fire of the plant that took his family. Rowan holds the line wherever evil dares to tread: be it a demonic creature, a possessed cultist, or a destructive surge of magic. His faith absorbs hostile spells, and his fury reduces heresy to ash.
But in recent weeks, their mission has ceased to be an ordinary hunt. More and more often they encounter foreign symbols, black marks, and omens of something ancient awakening. The dreams that torment Rowan… the strange hum in the aether Hermia keeps hearing… the quiet whisper of the curse calling to Garrett during night watches…
All of it points to one thing: something far worse than mere heresy is approaching.
