Their hides hang in wet folds, their jaws split too wide, and their teeth resemble broken hooks more than fangs. Barnacles cling to their ribs, worms nest in their gums, and in the darkness between waves their eyes gleam like lanterns beneath black water. They no longer bark like animals. Instead they make a choking, almost human sound, like drowned men trying to scream through flooded lungs.\r\u003cbr\u003e\r\u003cbr\u003eWhen the Gluttons raid a shore or board an enemy ship, the hounds are always unleashed first. They leap through smoke and surf, dragging men into the tide, tearing through barricades, and chasing the wounded by scent alone. They are especially drawn to fear and corruption, able to pick out the guilty, the decadent, and the dying from among a crowd. Some captains claim the beasts can smell sin itself.\r\u003cbr\u003e\r\u003cbr\u003eAmong the Gluttons of the Abyss, the hounds are fed before the crew. Great troughs of blood, offal, and seawater are poured across the deck while the beasts fight and devour one another beneath the moon. Those too weak to survive are eaten by the rest.
