Despite being one of the earlier planned vessels, problems with the power core and radiation shielding caused it to be heavily delayed – so delayed that indeed the CAW-107 Fusillade was created as a stop-gap measure.\r\u003cbr\u003e\r\u003cbr\u003eThe Fusillade’s solution to the raditation problem was simple yet elegant, and lead to the final design of the Enfilade:  placing the missiles racks clear of the hull, where less shielding is required. This in turn freed the internal structure enought to use a larger power core and solve both problems.\r\u003cbr\u003e\r\u003cbr\u003eThe Enfilade is technically a Hawkings Astronautics design, though it licences componets (like the construction of the missile bays and pylons) from Copernicus Amalgamated.
