The suspension was reinforced to take 11 tons of extra weight, mostly from enhanced armour. The power plant was replaced with a more powerful one to propel the new 45-ton weight.\r\u003cbr\u003e\r\u003cbr\u003eThe HAPC variant can carry up to 8 troops, though typically only actually takes six or seven, due to the heavy infantry’s weapons load. It is armed with a pintle HMG turret. The majority of these are used from the ZSL-336 stock, but several units have been spotted using the older ZSD-315 turrets, which are smaller and not quit as well protected against small arms.
